Idaho Senator Larry Craig did an whole lot of apologizing for a person who said he had nothing to apologize for. At a press conference in August 2007 after allegations that he solicited gay sex in an airport restroom, Craig apologized for everything but the act itself. He was sorry for pleading guilty at first, sorry for failing to consult with anyone beforehand and sorry for not telling anyone he got arrested. Craig vehemently denied any wrongdoing, stating, "I am not gay. I never have been gay," though people had questioned his sexuality since a House page scandal in the 1980s.
