No. No, no, no. When you're performing alongside Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and a 3-D Michael Jackson tribute, you can't rely on foot stomps and strobe lights. "I Gotta Feeling" is one of the best party-all-night anthems, and its Record of the Year nomination was deserved, but tonight's performance is subpar. The humans-dressed-as-robots dance routine might have wowed audiences a few years ago, but we are in the midst of a pop-music-performance renaissance, and this stuff isn't going to fly.
