On Jan. 13, Jimmy Kimmel joined the Tonight Show drama by performing his entire show impersonating Jay Leno. Wearing a gray wig and prosthetic chin, Kimmel spoofed Leno's lisp and "Did you hear about this?" segues. He later brought on guest Chevy Chase, who wore a Conan O'Brienesque red wig.
Seemingly in on the joke, Leno had Kimmel appear via satellite two days later to answer his Ten at Ten interview. Though Leno didn't shy away from asking about the late-night wars, he was forced to laugh through the abuse as Kimmel told joke after joke at Leno's expense. When asked what his best prank was, Kimmel responded, "I told a guy that five years from now, I'm going to give you my show. And then when the five years came, I gave it to him and then I took it back almost instantly."
Kimmel signed off pleading with Leno, "Conan and I have children. All you have to take care of is cars ... For God's sake, leave our shows alone!"
