Dodonpa

Don't bank on being able to see Mount Fuji clearly from the top of Dodonpa at Fuji Q Highland Park. The mountain will probably be just a blur, as this is the world's third fastest coaster, with a ludicrously quick launch speed of 107 m.p.h., reached in less than 2 seconds. The suspense builds as passengers listen to a countdown while waiting in a dark tunnel for the ride to start; they then shoot out, usually screaming at the top of their voices. Dodonpa is notable for being only the second ride to use the power of compressed air to launch its coasters, following Virginia's now retired Hypersonic XLC.
