On a break from directing martial-arts epics (Hero) and the Beijing Olympics' opening ceremonies, Zhang Yimou redoes the Coen brothers' noir comedy Blood Simple as a dizzy mix of broad farce and visual bravado: the last 50 minutes have almost no dialogue. A neat treat from a movie master.
