In Terrence Malick's bucolic crime drama, Richard Gere (in his first starring role) schemes to have his secret girlfriend Brooke Adams marry rich farmer Sam Shepard. One of the most visually rapturous films, this 1978 masterpiece looks great in its Criterion edition.
