When Michael Jackson died, America completely lost it. People who hadn't thought of the King of Pop in years were suddenly learning to moonwalk and reminiscing about the first time they heard "Billie Jean." Jackson-mania even spread to Facebook, where the deceased pop star's fan page jumped from 800,000 fans to more than 7 million in less than two weeks, eclipsing Barack Obama (6 million fans) to become the most popular Facebook celebrity page. Jackson's page gained fans at a rate of about 20 people per second, sometimes more. And lest you think the mania has died down, as of December 2009, 10.3 million Facebook users had become fans of Michael Jackson.
