Who knew tilling a field could be so addictive? When Facebook launched FarmVille in June 2009, the virtual-farming game was just one of thousands of gamelike applications. By October, 62 million people had joined, making FarmVille the most popular Facebook game of all time, even out-trending 2008's game craze Scrabulous.
