Curb Your Enthusiasm, "The Table Read"

Larry David's two masterworks, Curb and Seinfeld, came together this season when his sitcom alter ego reunited his old TV pals as part of an elaborate plot to win his wife back. The story gave Curb some of its best episodes in years, top among them this one, which saw the cast back together and trading lines in a pitch-perfect mock-Seinfeld script. It re-created the Lennon-McCartney creative dynamic between the acerbic David and the wry Jerry Seinfeld, while a subplot offered hilarious catharsis for Michael Richards' racist meltdown of 2006. It wasn't a Seinfeld-finale do-over, exactly, but it was something better: the stars of a TV classic showing they've still got it by giving us something new.
