Carly Fiorina (California)

Senator John Cornyn, the Texas Republican who heads the National Republican Senatorial Committee, personally recruited former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina to challenge Democratic incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer. That didn't stop state assemblyman Chuck DeVore, a conservative, from challenging Fiorina, who stumped for John McCain in the 2008 presidential campaign with mixed success. DeVore, who calls Fiorina a "big-government liberal," is being helped by an online fundraising drive led by RedState.com and was endorsed by South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint. Fiorina has come under fire of late for mismanaging her campaign and for her spotty voting record. At least one recent poll has the two tied among Californian Republican primary voters.
