In 2006, Star Trek actor William Shatner capitalized on his cult-icon status by auctioning his kidney stone for $25,000; the Priceline.com pitchman donated the proceeds to Habitat for Humanity. (The buyer, GoldenPalace.com, also forked over $28,000 for a cheese sandwich that resembled the Virgin Mary in 2004.) When asked what body part he'd consider auctioning off next, Shatner mused, "Well, it depends on the price, I guess. I can spare very little, mind you."
