Do What to a Chicken?

A report in the New York Times speculated that the word Ernie Anastos meant to use was plucking. On Sept. 16, the Fox broadcaster was joking around with weatherman Nick Gregory on live television when this happened:
Anastos: It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast, Nick.
Gregory: I guess that's me.
Anastos: Keep f___ing that chicken!
Anastos later apologized for using "inappropriate language" on the air, but he never explained why he used the bizarre phrase in the first place or what it was supposed to mean. In what context would that comment ever be appropriate? We may never know. Anastos gets extra points, however, for getting co-anchor Dari Alexander, at left, to make an incredible expression.
