"Apparently, NBC has something against girls who love their veggies," was PETA's comment after NBC banned their "Veggie Love" video from airing during Super Bowl XLIII in 2009. A look at the video, however, makes it quite clear that these girls loved their veggies a little too much. The ad's pitch was that vegetarians have better sex. NBC told PETA they were uncomfortable with the "sexuality" of the scenes with a woman "rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin" or "screwing herself with broccoli" among other scenes and that they would need to be cut. PETA refused to do so, counting on the controversy to spread their sexy veggies campaign far and wide across the Internet which, obviously, worked. But won't somebody think of the pumpkins?
