5. "Like A Prayer" by Madonna
Madonna has certainly courted controversy in her time but she managed to incur the wrath of the Catholic church with the video for "Like A Prayer". The subplot of Madonna making love to Saint Martin de Porres — which many felt was a black version of Jesus Christ — did not go down well. Yet put the imagery to one side and you're left with one of the undoubted highlights of Madge's career, almost epic in tone and enhanced by that unforgettably angelic aura provided by the choir. It sold over five million copies worldwide.
