Definition: something that one has earned or gained; foresight

Winner:: Pratyush Buddiga of Denver, a first-time competitor who later told reporters, "I didn't think I really had a chance to win." That year's competition featured two guests of honor: First Lady Laura Bush, who opened the ESPN broadcast with taped comments commending the contestants, and 88-year-old Frank Neuhauser, who won the first-ever bee in 1925 with gladiolus (a type of flower).
