To be fair, George H. W. Bush couldn't really help it. During a visit to Tokyo in 1992, the 41st President became violently ill at a dinner with Japanese Prime Minister Kiichi Miyazawa, vomiting on the foreign head of state before slumping into an unconscious stupor. Thanks to Barbara Bush's attentiveness and table-hopping Secret Service agents, Bush recovered quickly, and his aids passed it off as the flu. "The President is human," said White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater. "He gets sick." Even so, the dinner's awkward and disgusting hilarity couldn't be erased. It's never polite to throw up on your hosts, no matter how sick you are.
