The Bastard Interrupts the Show

It's rude to speak ill of the dead. And since Ol' Dirty Bastard, a founding member of rap group Wu-Tang Clan, died of an accidental drug overdose in 2004, let's talk about singer Shawn Colvin instead. During the 1998 Grammy's, Colvin — as per typical award acceptance procedure — went on stage to accept her Song of the Year award for the single "Sunny Came Home." But it seems she must have gone too early because gosh darn it she interrupted rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard's diatribe about his group's earlier loss to Puff Daddy (as he was then known) in the Best Rap Album category. Fresh from having helped save a child that week and wearing new duds that "costed [sic] a lot of money," ODB was needless to say, expecting some love. As he says, "Puffy's good, but Wu-Tang is the best."
