In Kogelo, Kenya, where Obama's father grew up, the main inauguration party took place at Barack Obama primary school, where classrooms were turned into makeshift hotels with names such as Something Cold and Connie of Siaya. And, what's more, there was money to be made. Hawkers sold T-shirts, calendars and traditional print wraps, while a photographer flogged framed portraits of an unlikely triad: Obama, Jesus Christ, and Raila Odinga, Kenya's Prime Minister. Unlike the other two, he's not expected to perform miracles.
