Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
It's pretty hard not to cheer along with 1964's Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the stop motion animated short based on the Johnny Marks song. Part of the fun of still returning to the show, more than 40 years after the fact, is to see all the colorful side characters, from the Abominable Snow Monster to Sam the Snowman — the roly-poly narrator who re-emerged as a supporting character in Will Ferrell's holiday comedy Elf. Then there's this ending sequence, with the lost toys mourning a ruined Christmas. Warming themselves by the campfire, one spots a red glow in the sky. They all cheer. Rudolph has come to save the day.
