Almost as soon as plans started taking shape for an expansion of London's Heathrow Airport, the proposal garnered unwanted attention from environmentalists who argued that more planes mean more pollution and more global warming. The airport won a 2007 injunction barring a group called "Plane Stupid" from disrupting operations by camping at the airport. But when Heathrow's new wing, Terminal 5, opened to the public in March 2008, hundreds of protesters with matching red shirts that read "Stop Airport Expansion" swarmed the place flash mob style.
