The summer of '08 was an exciting time for women and female stereotypes alike, what with the eagerly-awaited premiere of HBO's Sex and the City movie and the Presidential campaign of New York Senator Hillary Clinton, maker of more than 18 million cracks in the Oval Office's glass ceiling. So Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee merged the two femme phenomena, writing in her laptop while musing, a la Carrie Bradshaw, "Is America really ready for a woman president?" While interviewing a female conservative pundit who believes women are the weaker sex and that leaders should exude "manly confidence," Bee responds, "Hello! Jimmy Carter, you could just smell his man-musk right through the television." The best part of the sketch is Kim Cattral's cameo at the end. Her one line: "I'm ready for a woman on top."
