Psycho (1960) / Psycho II (1983)

How does one make a sequel to one of the greatest thrillers ever made? By just going ahead and doing it, that's how!

Psycho II stars two of the original film's cast—Anthony Perkins and Vera Miles— and even opens with the first film's shower scene, one of the most famous sequences in cinema history. Not so wise in retrospect, sort of like dating a new girl and decorating your bedroom with portraits of her previous boyfriend.

The movie did decently well at the box office, however, setting up at least one other big screen sequel.
