Massachusetts

Since 1994, the Museum of Bad Art has been presenting discerning art lovers with the most godawful paintings ever created by hopeless amateurs. The collection — some of which was acquired from the artists, most of which was acquired from trash cans — comprises about 400 items, a fraction of which is put on public display at the museum's gallery in the basement of the Dedham Community Theater. Gaze upon such masterpieces as "Sunday on the Pot With George" and "Peter the Kitty," a stirring "portrayal of feline angst" acquired from a Salvation Army store in Hyde Park, and hope that whoever painted them went to law school instead.
580 High St., in Dedham Sq., Dedham; 781-444-6757; free admission.
