PRO: When Hicks (the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers owner) and Gillett (the money behind the Montreal Canadiens) bought iconic English soccer club Liverpool in February 2007, Hicks told TIME that both men were keen to "keep a great thing going great."

They've squabbled over the club's future — Hicks is intent on buying Gillett's stake; Gillett has looked keener to sell to Arab investors — and undermined the team's coach.
