Occupation: Chairman, president and CEO of Starbucks
Coffee-shop magnate Schultz has spent the past several decades shepherding Starbucks through meteoric growth, but in recent months he has turned his focus toward the public sphere. In August, Schultz vowed to cease all political donations until leaders in Washington come up with a long-term plan for fiscal sustainability and a short-term solution to the jobs crisis. He has also taken up the issue of corporate citizenship, vowing to hire more workers without waiting for Washington to jump-start America's anemic recovery.
