Once near extinction in the late 1980s, white stork populations have rebounded in recent years. After nesting near wetlands in Europe in the spring and summer, these large birds who, according to fable, deliver newborn babies of the human species to their parents, head to Africa in large flocks for the winter. Even while nesting, storks tend to stay within hearing distance of several other pairs. While there are dozens of storkcams throughout Europe, this perch in Bavaria is among the most picturesque with its pretty backdrop of redroofed homes in the background.
