Jack White just might be the last big rock star left. In February he and longtime collaborator Meg White announced the formal dissolution of the White Stripes, the group that made them famous. Band breakups can be career killers, but White has harnessed his fame and used it to his advantage: by working on smaller, less mainstream projects that take him and the world of rock music in a new direction. When he's not recording or touring with one of his other two bands, the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather, White now runs Third Man: a record label, production and distribution center, photo studio and music venue in Nashville.
