Here's an ingenious idea for a car ad: never show us the car, never talk about anything but gas mileage. That was Chevy's bizarre strategy with this Cruze spot, setting us in a retirement home with a group of elderly curmudgeons who can't hear, much less process, what's going on. Don't get me wrong: awkward elderly crowds can be loads of fun, but what exactly does any of this have to do with anything?
