In 1979, comedy singer Dr. Elmo sang a song about a grandmother who got drunk on too much eggnog and wandered outside on Christmas Eve only to be run over by a reckless Santa and his reindeer. In the song, the family finds the grandma's lifeless body with "hoof prints on her forehead" the next morning. Seemingly unmoved by his wife's Yuletide demise, the grandfather drinks beer and watches football. Everybody else wonders, "Should we open up her presents or send them back?" The song ends with a plea that someone revoke Santa's driver's license.
