On a late December Friday morning, groups of gunmen enter airports in Rome and Vienna at nearly the same moment, spraying automatic gunfire and hurling hand grenades. The targets seem to be Israel's El Al airline passengers, but the men, part of a Palestinian splinter group, do not discriminate. The toll: 14 dead, more than 100 wounded.
