Fronted by the leathery-voiced Marcus Mumford, this four-piece band plays energized folk rock with a heavy emphasis on banjo and accordion. The group made the circuit of American late-night talk shows after the U.S. release of its first album, Sigh No More, in February 2010 (the album reached No. 58 on the Billboard 200). And Mumford & Sons have played some of the biggest American music festivals, including Bonnaroo, Sasquatch! and Lollapalooza. Back home, meanwhile, the band was nominated for Britain's premier music award, the Barclaycard Mercury Prize, while Sigh No More reached No. 6 on the U.K. charts.
