Is this Sarah Palin's first campaign ad for her 2012 presidential bid or just a push for "mama grizzlies" in the 2010 midterms? No one can be sure, but on July 8, the former Alaska governor unveiled a Web video featuring all the inspirational music, folksy language and slow-motion sign-hoisting you could ask for. Narrating, Palin explains that "commonsense, conservative women" have been experiencing a "mom awakening" in the past year. Now "mama grizzlies" Palin's nickname for the female candidates she endorses are rising up and "pink elephants" are stampeding toward Washington. Not to question her metaphorical mastery, but we think the real pink elephant in the room is Palin's budding presidential ambition.
