Cedar Point doesn't call itself the "Roller Coaster Capital of the World" for nothing. Another of the park's entries on our list, the Top Thrill Dragster is a break from the traditional roller coaster as it's technically a "strata coaster," which is a complete circuit coaster reaching more than 400 ft. (128 m) high. Considering its name, it should come as no surprise that the Thrill Dragster snorts and revs just like a real dragster and, for added fear factor, sometimes stalls at the top and rolls back down in reverse. Rest assured: the track is equipped with retractable magnetic braking fins to stop the coaster when this happens. It's one of only two strata coasters in existence, the other being Kingda Ka.
