For many Facebook devotees, the excitement of going on vacation is heightened by the knowledge that you don't need to wait to get home to let people know how much fun you're having. Though 26-year-old Maxi Sopo's Cancun vacation was a bit unorthodox he fled to the Mexican resort town after defrauding Seattle area banks out of $200,000 he still couldn't resist posting a series of status updates informing friends that he was "living in paradise" and "loving it."
In his eagerness to share tales of his tropical getaway with as many people as possible, Sopo made the ill-fated mistake of adding a former Justice Department official to his list of friends, a move that landed him in a Mexican jail awaiting extradition to the U.S.
