Michigan's David McMenemy couldn't catch a break in his 2006 attempt to blow up an Iowa abortion clinic. After dousing the inside of his car with gasoline, he drove it into the Edgerton Women's Health Center in Davenport, Iowa. But the impact didn't cause an explosion, so he poured more gasoline on the car until it ignited, only to realize that he had no desire to die in the flames. It was for the best the clinic McMenemy was trying to attack didn't even perform abortions. For his epic failure, McMenemy was sentenced to five years in federal prison on arson charges.
