Anyone who watched the evening news in the 1960s, '70s or '80s will likely remember this admonishment: "It's 10 p.m. Do you know where your children are?" First launched by a small ABC affiliate in upstate New York, the reprimand has since been co-opted by CNBC ("It's 4 o'clock ... Do you know where your money is?"), Monster.com ("It's 6 o'clock ... Do you know where your career is?") and even the Fox show The Simpsons (in one episode, Homer Simpson responds to his TV, "I told you last night no!").
