The so-called 127 Corridor Sale is to yard sales what War and Peace is to novels. It is beyond massive and threatens to drown even the savviest of shoppers in mountains of bric-a-brac and just plain junk. It's a nondigital eBay. For four days each August, the sale stretches along roadsides for 654 miles across five states (though it originates in Jamestown, Tenn.). Last year, some 4,000 vendors showed up in hopes that buyers would help them clean out their attics. Happy hunting. Admission: free
