Privatization is slow going in Florida, where there was not a single bid on the 78 miles of Interstate 75 known as Alligator Alley, which crosses the southern tip of the Florida peninsula, from Naples on the Sunshine State's west coast to Weston on its east. While it had hoped to piggyback on the success of other states in turning over toll roads to private owners, Florida has now put the sale on hold.
