Caught up in a few controversies and still learning how to execute the more public parts of a job he is otherwise supremely qualified to do. Behind the scenes, he's been busy remaking the Federal Government's role in a range of areas that represent some of the starkest departures from Bush Administration policies, most notably on the balance between national security and civil liberties a big part of the Obama agenda.
