In 1993, after weeks of political infighting and Tory party sex scandals, British Prime Minister John Major vented his frustrations to a reporter who had just completed an interview. Major, still mic'ed, condemned several members of his Cabinet, calling them "bastards" that he would "crucify." Of the sex scandals, he noted: "Even as an ex-Whip I can't stop people sleeping with other people if they ought not." Major didn't even spare himself, asking rhetorically "how such a complete wimp like me keeps winning everything."
