Whitney Museum of American Art New York
June 26 - Sept. 21
Buckminster Fuller was a much hyphenated artist-engineer-early sustainability advocate who is mostly remembered for the very cool, (but actually not that domestically desirable) geodesic dome. He crossed disciplines like they were streets, and explored those gray areas that everyone else thinks are no man's land. He was a designer inventor and an author. It will be interesting to see what the Whitney makes of him and whether his ideas have more validity now. Was he a visionary or a kook?
