Shopping options in Beijing are expanding exponentially, thanks in part to visionary retailers like Lane Crawford president Jennifer Woo. Under her direction, in October the Hong Kong-based retailer opened an 80,000-sq.-ft. (7,500 sq m) outpost in Beijing's new Seasons Place Mall on Financial Street. The store, complete with a technology bar and a disc jockey, sells 600-plus cutting-edge brands, including Prada, Stella McCartney, Maison Martin Margiela and Alexander McQueen. The store, a $38 million investment, is the first in what Woo says will be a five-year expansion of Lane Crawford stores into major cities in mainland China.
