Daimler's new compact sport utility vehicle, the first ever built by Mercedes Benz, comes with a new four-cylinder diesel engine, which will get up to 35 miles per gallon and is equipped with Mercedes-Benz new emission control technology to meet both the latest federal and California standards. The first models on sale in the U.S., however, will use gasoline engines.
