Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt
Players: Hosted by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdullah II, the talks were attended by Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
Agenda: The four leaders met with the goal of ending the four-year intifadah.
Outcome: A restatement of intent to comply with the Roadmap. Sharon and Abbas also agreed to a ceasefire, although Palestinian armed groups of all factions immediately made clear that they were not bound by Abbas's undertakings. Abbas later negotiated a truce with Hamas and other militant groups, although it has periodically been disrupted by bouts of violence.
