Black suggested that the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto helped McCain show off his readiness to be Commander-in-Chief and another terrorist attack would do the same. McCain later distanced himself from the remarks and Black said he regretted them. Black remains a senior McCain adviser.
