"There must be public funding for abortions for poor women."

—Giuliani, in a 1989 speech circulated on YouTube. The clip was played for Giuliani during a CNN interview with reporter Dana Bash. The campaign later released a clarifying statement: "I will not seek to change current law as described in the Hyde Amendment" which provides public funding for abortions in limited circumstances (due to rape, incest, or when the life of a mother is threatened.)
