The media circus surrounding Anna Nicole Smith's death was insipid and incessant enough to turn news veteran Maria Shriver away from the TV business for good. The First Lady of California said at a women's conference that she swore off television journalism after watching the Smith coverage. "It was then that I knew that the TV-news business had changed, and so had I," she said. "I called NBC News and told them I'm not coming back." Shriver is a former co-anchor of Dateline NBC.
