Kanye West has promised he will never return to MTV. Though he was nominated for five Video Music Awards (VMAs), the Graduation rapper failed to take home a single prize on Sept. 9. Following the show, West, who rushed the stage at the 2006 MTV Europe VMAs after losing, told reporters, "Give a black man a chance. I'm trying hard, man." Two days later, MTV responded by praising West and said it's had a "long and collaborative relationship" with him that it hopes will continue and strengthen.
