How much did Broadway insiders hate Coram Boy, the epic-sized British hit about an orphan's travails in 18th century England that got a cold critical shoulder when it opened here last month? They denied it even a token best play nomination, in favor of this overrated comedy (which closed months ago) about a Hollywood star and the agent who's trying to keep his homosexuality secret. Douglas Carter Beane's lame showbiz wisecracks were redeemed only by Julie White's sitcom-slick (and Tony-nominated) performance as the conniving agent.
