The aptly named Hank Moody (David Duchovny) is a writer, dad and horndog looking for a second chance from his ex (Natascha McElhone), his daughter (Madeleine Martin) and life in general. With its sculpted bodies and broad farce, Californication can play like a parody of a cable sexcom, but Duchovny is martini-dry as the world-weary Hank.
